I was recently at a virtual conference that used Proximity-based breakout rooms. And I thought this was an interesting concept for RC to consider for the RCV platform.

The idea here is that you can move your avatar around a virtual space and join conversations based on where you are in proximity to other avatars of people in the same space. It also seemed to have the ability to have a main area where proximity conferences could flow freely as well as side rooms that were specific conferences in a more webinar style.

This virtual reality meeting style more closely resembles what happens at real conferences that take place at hotels or conference centers.

Similar systems that have this - SpatialWeb, Second Life (or other video game services that have had this concept for years), Proximity Teams.

May also be known as virtual location-based meetings.
